Dinraal tears of the kingdom
I’ve found Naydra to be the easiest of the three elemental dragons to collect materials from. Not only do you have an almost perfect vantage point on the dragon from Mount Lanaryu Skyview Tower, but chances are you’ve picked up the Snowquill armor set at Rito Village or have some cold-resistant dishes and elixirs how to cut cigar without cigar cutter.
So, yeah, that’s the path of Dinraal in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, but what time does it go underground / come back to the surface? Well it used to be that you could fairly reliably expect the dragon to exit the East Akkala Plains Chasm around 9 or 10 AM. However, it seems like that’s not the case anymore and all dragons have a constant cycle that’s not affected by resting at a campfire. So, the best advice I can give you is to wait at Typhlo Ruins Skyview Tower or Ulri Mountain Skyview Tower and wait for Dinraal to come along. Then, use the tower to launch yourself into the air and land on the dragon’s back (or fire at its feet to get the claw). Bring something like the Flamebreaker armor along, because Dinraal’s back is deadly hot.
In addition, it is important to note that you can farm only one item from these dragons at once, and then you have to wait for some time before you can get another item again. So, remember that you have to be patient and strategic when farming items from Dinraal.
The locations above for Farosh, Naydra, and Dinraal are listed in-game as the common spots for each dragon. That being said, they only serve as a general reference. Each dragon follows its own looping route, which we’ve broken down in more detail below. But there are times when dragons might be slightly outside their corresponding regions.

Dinraal is one of three roaming Dragons in Hyrule Kingdom, the others being Naydra and Farosh. She can be found roaming the Eldin region, Great Hyrule Forest, Akkala, and Hebra. Dinraal guards the Spring of Power. While she cannot be defeated, she does not actively try to harm Link. However, if Link gets too close, he will be seared by the fire emanating from her body, unless he possesses a full set of Fireproof Armor that has been enhanced twice by a Great Fairy. Dinraal will drop different Materials if Link shoots her with a Bow. Depending on what part of Dinraal is hit, she will drop a Shard of Dinraal’s Horn, Shard of Dinraal’s Fang, Dinraal’s Claw or Dinraal’s Scale.
